Juventus Academy Shanghai in the Metaverse: a First Step
The Juventus Academy is the official football school for the Serie A Italian football club. The academy organizes an annual event that is set up to develop participants’ skills through the Juventus training method. It is applied according to the age and level of players, no matter the location of the event.
Launched in 2018, the Juventus Academy Shanghai aims to provide the same quality of football training to young players in Shanghai. This year’s event was even more special because it was the first time JAS was organized in the metaverse.
The Challenge
Juventus Academy Shanghai decided that its kick-off party would take place in a metaverse to engage the Italian club’s management, partners, and students in a fun and dynamic environment.
To make the live event more interactive but not less informative, the team decided to create a quiz for attendees that would test their knowledge about Juventus. Because it was the first-ever virtual event for JAS, it was important that the event went smoothly and that the organizers chose Party.Space to stage it.
The Solution
JAS’s goal was to provide its students with a fun and engaging experience and celebrate the start of the new season with their partners and sponsors while learning about the latest happenings in Juventus Football.
To accomplish this, Party.Space created a virtual conference hall and made it possible for the guest speakers and members of JAS to interact with one another in a 3D environment. The conference hall was designed with Juventus’s iconic black and white colors as well as the company’s logo so that the theme would match the club’s brand identity.
In addition, the virtual space was equipped with an interactive display so that presenters could showcase their content and the audience would be able to ask questions in real time. The area also included a meta shop where visitors could purchase club merchandise such as branded uniform sets, tracksuits, backpacks, and more at a discounted price. There was a discount on the purchase of goods and almost half of the party guests used a discount to buy branded merch.
The Results
More than 100 guests attended the live event in Shanghai and enjoyed a presentation from the Juventus Academy Shanghai team about the goals and plans for the upcoming season.
They also had the chance to participate in a quiz to test their knowledge of the Juventus club’s history and win valuable prizes at the end of the event.
The entire event was a big hit with attendees and attendees made great use of the interactive functionality — making new connections in the virtual environment.
