Raising Funds for Ukraine | Virtual St. Patrick’s Day Party with Party.Space

St. Patrick’s Day was different this year. We organized a fundraising event called St. Patrick’s Day - Stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦

St. Patrick’s Day helped to attract lots of people who could have a great time on Party.Space while also helping Ukrainians. The main goal of the event was to raise money for Ukraine and Ukrainians suffering from the Russian invasion.

The Challenge

With the world brought to a standstill, Party.Space is stepping up to help Ukraine. During these difficult times, we decided to make the best of our virtual event platform by hosting a virtual fundraiser. We continued to be saddened by the devastating armed conflict in Ukraine and our thoughts are with Ukrainians.

The main challenge was to mix the traditions of St. Patrick’s Day with a fundraising event. This was actually our first fundraiser at Party.Space. Our specialists created custom spaces, posters with QR codes, and prepared tons of virtual activities. People from all over the world could attend our event, have fun, and help Ukraine.

“The Party.Space team has shown incredible creativity and ability to innovate when it comes to space design for attendee engagement.”

Franz-Josef Schrepf (FJS) Strategic Partnerships Manager at Hopin

The Solution

At Party.Space, we followed the best traditions for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by creating a custom space decorated in various shades of green. There were various posters devoted to St. Patrick’s Day as well as the situation in Ukraine. All the posters had QR codes leading to non-profit organizations that are helping Ukrainians. Our specialists shortlisted non-profit funds and organizations that focus on helping Ukrainians in a dark place.

The quiz was a central activity at our online fundraising event. Anyone could participate in the quiz that consisted of two blocks. One block included questions about the history and celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and the other block included questions about Ukraine and its achievements in the global arena. For example, “Which Ukrainian company won the world cyber championships?”.

Apart from the quiz, we also held a raffle. The top 5 quiz participants got little presents from Party.Space.

“The trivia game was so much fun. Still can not believe that I came out on top of the leaderboard. The last section with Ukrainian- focused questions was my personal favorite. Glad I was able to participate.”

The Results

Everyone who attended our virtual fundraising event was excited about the event, the platform, and the networking opportunities. Guests got engaged in the quiz and thematic virtual celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

250 people attended the fundraising event and took part in the St. Patrick’s Day virtual activities. The main goal of the virtual celebration was to raise funds to support Ukraine and tell the world what is happening in Ukraine. Our guests used the QR codes to send money directly to non-profit organizations and managed to help thousands of people in Ukraine.

"The proximity, the way it resembles being in person, the design of the rooms are awesome and I love the games and features. I am excited to explore the room and walk around and meet new people!"

Genevieve P Coach and facilitator

The event took place over the course of an entire day. Anyone could attend our virtual celebration, take part in the activities, or donate directly to charity funds to support Ukraine.

Posters with QR codes and short slogans, an entertainment program, and customized party spaces are second-to-none for virtual fundraising events. Also, the event coordinator that was hosting the party emphasized the main goal of the event and the possible means for donating.
